The Del Rayo Estates

The Del Rayo Estates in Rancho Santa Fe are some of the largest and most impressive luxury homes in 92067. The homes in the Del Rayo Estates neighborhood are located on lots that range from two to twelve acres.  The houses were built (and rebuilt) at various times during the past twenty five years, with sizes ranging from 8,000 to 17,000 square feet. Many of the homes were originally developed by former Chargers owner Gene Klien and local developer and investor Gene Lingerbrink. Many of these estate properties have whimsical names such as “The Belmont”, “Casa De Los Suenos” and “The Preakness Estate”. Equestrian themes are big here, and many of the Del Rayo Estates have their own equestrian facilities to back up the names.

The coastal locations and the views make these estates some of the most cherished (and expensive) properties in San Diego County. All of the Del Rayo Estates homes have wonderful views. Some of the houses overlook the manicured fairways of the Del Mar Country Club and Golf Course. Most of the estates have guest houses, fitness rooms, theaters, billiard rooms, wine cellars, and poolside cabanas. Some of the celebrities that have had residences at the Del Ray Estates include Jenny Craig and former NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle.

Children in the Del Rayo Estates neighborhood attend public schools at Solana Santa Fe Elementary (part of the Solana Beach school district), graduating into the San Dieguito High School district (Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High). There are also numerous private schools in the area to choose from.
