Carlsbad is just one of those places that the minute you visit, you never wish to leave. Carlsbad real estate includes houses, town homes, and condominiums for every lifestyle and almost any budget. The older beach neighborhoods near The Village have given way to a huge expanse of new home developments east of I-5 in La Costa Valley. The community now stretches over five zip codes, 92008, 92009, 92010, 92011, and 92013 in North County San Diego. New Carlsbad homes are still being built.

Carlsbad is home to fields of flowers, sandy beaches, Legoland, affluent businesses, a growing local economy, and homes to fit any lifestyle. Known as a resort destination, the community has also become a prosperous manufacturing center only thirty miles north of the downtown area of San Diego.  Carlsbad real estate is at the mid to upper end of properties you’ll find in San Diego County. Our Carlsbad Realtors can help you find the perfect home!

This is a beautiful community, with rolling hills, peaceful lagoons, wild canyons, and seven miles of coastline. The village of Carlsbad is right near the beach, with shops, restaurants, and historical buildings dating back to 1887. East of I-5 the more modern attractions include the Legoland amusement park and the La Costa Golf Resort and Spa.

Carlsbad Neighborhoods

By Southern California standards, Carlsbad is one of the most affordable coastal communities. As one might expect in such a large area, there are a wide range of Carlsbad homes for sale, sure to fit any lifestyle. Detached single family houses range from small beach cottages to large luxury estates. Older homes are closer to the coast, while new communities are still being built slightly inland in and around La Costa Valley.

Houses for sale at the west side of the community start at around $400,000 for older three bedroom, two bathroom houses near the village. Beachfront houses and estates start at around $2 Million with the most expensive beachfront home in 2011 priced at $29 Million. The more budget conscious will find older condos from the low $200,000’s, with the occasional short sale or foreclosure property available in the $100,000s.

For families with children, this community has some of the best schools in San Diego County, highlighted by the award-winning La Costa Canyon High School. The beaches are also among the best in San Diego, including Carlsbad City Beach, Carlsbad State Beach, and Ponto Beach. The area has more than 980 acres devoted to parks and recreation. The State Beach is one of the most popular beaches, with a concrete walkway running the entire length giving plenty of room for joggers, roller blade skaters and baby strollers. The beaches have full lifeguard service year round.

Not only will your family enjoy all the fun on the beaches, but also there are many attractions that will ensure your family will love their new home. There is an 18-hole championship golf course at La Costa Resort and Spa, nature trails, mineral springs, tidewater lagoons, antique shops, upscale boutiques, and fine dining. Attractions include the Children’s Discovery Museum of North County, the Museum of Making Music, Gemological Institute of America, and, of course, Legoland.

This North County suburb of San Diego is also home to many businesses, the most famous of which is Calloway Golf. Businesses of all types have move to the area for a work environment with scenic beauty that is hard to beat. The rolling hills, warm weather, attractions, beautiful beaches, and a thriving economy are only a few reasons that many wish to call Carlsbad home.
