There is a distinct beach-urban flavor in the South Pacific Beach / Mission Bay area. The rollercoaster and concessions provide good old-time entertainment. The restaurant/nightclub Canes attracts a lot of party-goers and music lovers. Restaurants are mostly very casual. Two very modern grocery stores serve the residents of homes in Pacific Beach.
The East side of Pacific Beach is adjacent to Interstate 5. West of I-5 and adjacent to Mission Bay is the lovely, tree-lined residential neighborhood of Crown Point. There are a number of entry-level beach homes in this area, along with newer condominiums and condominium conversions. Bayside homes on Mission Bay are mostly condominiums or row houses. Some of the Mission Bay condominiums are an excellent choice for individuals and couples looking for an affordable way to live near the beach in San Diego.
At the NorthEast side of Pacific Beach homes are mostly detached single-family houses. The far NorthEast corner includes a number of houses that provide military housing. The final few blocks head up the hill onto Soledad Mountain in La Jolla. Many of these hillside Pacific Beach homes enjoy views of Mission Bay and Downtown San Diego, and some are homes with views of the Pacific Ocean.
