Mission Beach Properties San Diego CA

Mission Beach

Mission Beach is the South end of Pacific Beach, both in zip code 92109

Mission Beach is at the south end of Pacific Beach, just west of Mission Bay in San Diego.  Both Pacific Beach and Mission Beach / Mission Bay share zip code 92109… which is general thought of as the Pacific Beach zip code.  Homes in this area include beachfront condominiums, and row houses rather densely clustered in a high-traffic oceanfront tourist destination.

The main attraction in the area is Belmont Park, which is the home of the famous Giant Dipper Roller Coaster, a wooden beauty that has been meticulously maintained since 1925.  Surrounding Belmont Park are a plethora of shops and restaurants serving tourists and San Diego residents alike.  Across Mission Bay Drive is the enormous Mission Bay Park, which offers loads of open grassy space, picnic areas, and sandy bayfront beaches in a relaxing and beautiful environment.  Mission Bay hosts the annual Bayfair hydroplane powerboat races, which draws tens of thousands of spectators.

Many Pacific Beach property owners rent their Mission Bay condominiums and Pacific Beach homes on either a short term or long term basis.  Several property managers serve the area, including Keller Williams Realtors in Carmel Valley.

The Catamaran Resort on Mission Bay Drive (on Mission Bay, a block away from the ocean) is the most well known Mission Beach hotel.  Other hotels and motels include the Best Western Blue Sea Lodge, Ocean Park Inn, Beach Haven Inn, and the Tower 23 Hotel.  On the other side of Mission Bay, only about 1/2 mile from the ocean, the Bahia Hotel, Paradise Point Resort and Spa, and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina are all family-friendly resorts with restaurants, boat rentals, equipment rentals and activities.

Mission Bay and Pacific Beach real estate is very reasonably priced in relation to other Southern California beach homes.  Compare property values in Santa Barbara or Malibu and you’ll see that there is tremendous upside potential for Pacific Beach homes at current prices.  House, condominium, and townhome prices near Mission Beach and in Pacific Beach are much lower than property values of La Jolla real estate just a mile or two to the North.
