This is an unusual market. Home prices have come down as much
as 10 to 20% in some neighborhoods. The thing that makes it
unusual is that there aren't an extraordinary number of homes for
sale right now. So when we look at the supply and demand
equation, there isn't any particular concern about a "housing market
crash." In fact, prices of many homes, including upscale
houses and estates, have held steady or even increased over recent
months.
There are a two keys to success in this market.
First, market knowledge is a must. As prices fluctuate in some
San Diego more than others, a successful home buyer must know
relative values. Comparing the price of a house to the recent
sales price of a few nearby homes is no longer sufficient.
Market knowledge could mean the difference between instant equity or
instant decline of your investment. The competent advice of a
