The Montecito real estate development is located in the Northeast section of Rancho Santa Fe, outside The Covenant. Montecito is an upscale community of 36 executive homes designed by architect Buzzard-Henning and built by Ray Watt. The houses were built in 1984 at the time that the Olympic equestrian events were being held at Fairbanks Ranch, right down the street. These are affordable homes by Rancho Santa Fe real estate standards, but still on the upper end compared to other San Diego communities. Note: Don’t confuse Montecito Rancho Santa Fe zip code 92067 with the neighborhood of the same name in Carmel Valley. They are very different communities!

Houses at Montecito in Rancho Santa Fe have a Mediterranean-Spanish flare and were mainly intended as residences for empty-nesters, singles, or retirees. Most of the residences enjoy open views of the surrounding hills, mountains, and canyons.  There are three floor plans, with comfortable sizes of 2,200 to around 3,000 square feet.  Residents of the Montecito neighborhood enjoy access to the community pool and fitness center.  The homeowners pay a monthly fee of around $750 per month which covers common area maintenance and use of the pool and recreational facilities.

Montecito is one of the three Ray Watt “Villages of Fairbanks”, located south of San Dieguito Road, and north of Camino Santa Fe and Country Club Drive.  The other to neighboring villages are “Senterra” and “Stratford.” Like most Rancho Santa Fe real estate, it is a short 10-minute drive to shopping at Flower Hill Mall at Via De La Valle in Del Mar/Solana Beach, and just a few more minutes to the beaches. Montecito real estate is a good choice for both location and ambiance. Many of the homes have views across Del Mar to the Pacific Ocean.

Part of the Solana Beach Elementary School District and the San Dieguito Union High School District, children in the Montecito community attend Solana Santa Fe Elementary in Rancho Santa Fe. The upper-level public schools are Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High School in Carmel Valley.  Contact the Rancho Santa Fe Realtors at eXp Realty for additional information about Montecito real estate: (619) 200-7612.
