Just two miles north of the Village of Rancho Santa Fe, Rancho Del Lago is an exclusive gated community of upscale luxury homes located just outside the northeastern boundary of The Covenant of Rancho Santa Fe.  Developed by John Desha, the neighborhood was built on the “Johnson Ranch”, a Valencia orange grove covering more than 185 acres.  The old groves are still a prominent feature of the views and charm of the area.

Houses at Rancho Del Lago have magnificent floor plans that range from 4,000 to over 10,000 square feet of living area. The largest estate in the neighborhood boasts over 20,000 square feet of upscale luxury living.  Privacy is maintained by the guards at the entrance, on duty 24-hours a day.  There are only 43 estates in the neighborhood, on large lots that average four to five and a half acres.

Most of the estates in the community have swimming pools, private tennis courts, detached guest houses, basketball courts, putting greens, expansive gardens, or some combination thereof.  There is really no limit to the number of upgrades and amenities enjoyed by the residents here.

Home prices in Rancho Del Lago reflect the desirability and grandeur of the community, starting at around $3 Million and up to around $20 Million. Home owner’s association dues are around $750 per month.

To get to Rancho Del Lago, take the Del Dios Highway to El Camino Del Norte (North).  The community is located North of the San Dieguito Reservoir.

Children in the neighborhood attend the highly-rated Rancho Santa Fe Elementary School.  Part of the San Dieguito Union High School District, the upper schools are Earl Warren Middle and Torrey Pines High.
