Rancho Santa Fe Luxury Estates

It is no secret among Rancho Santa Fe residents that Fairbanks Ranch is an awesome community of estate homes.  It is one of the largest developments in Rancho Santa Fe, with around 600 custom-built houses on lots ranging from 1 acre to several acres in size. 

There is nothing generic about the houses in this luxury homes community.  There is a house style for just about everyone, ranging in size from around 4,000 square feet to over 10,000 square feet.  The residences were originally built in the 1980’s, and many Fairbanks Ranch houses have been remodeled, or torn down and completely rebuilt since then.

Residents enjoy a host of upscale  amenities, including horseback riding and lessons at the equestrian center, five tennis courts, a lakeside clubhouse, putting practice green, and a huge park with basketball, volleyball, picnic and barbeque areas. Families with children are never lacking activities, including summer camps that are hosted inside the neighborhood.

This guard-gated community is monitored with 24-hour security patrols.  Fairbanks Ranch is actually two gated communities, one to the North and another to the South of San Dieguito Road.  Both the North and the South side of the community are absolutely gorgeous, with tree-lined streets and mature landscaping.  Homes further from San Dieguito Road are preferred and generally valued more highly due to the greater quiet and tranquility. The neighborhood as a whole spans about 5 square miles, or 1,240 acres, with 142 acres of estate homes, 643 acres reserved as open space and parks, and the remainder allocated to the country club.

Fairbanks Ranch Community

The Fairbanks Ranch Country Club is adjacent to the residential community.  The country club was built on the site that hosted the Olympic Equestrian Endurance Event for the 1984 Olympic Games. The club is now home to a 27-hole golf course, and full country-club amenities including dining, tennis, and fitness.  But the equestrian atmosphere persists, with riding trails, arenas, and stables nestled throughout the area.

One of the great things about the neighborhood is that children can walk to the Solana Santa Fe Elementary school, basically right outside the gates of the community, on the South side of San Dieguito Road.  Middle and High School students travel about ten minutes north to Carmel Valley’s Earl Warren Middle School and the award-winning Torrey Pines High School.
