The Del Rayo Estates in Rancho Santa Fe are the big sisters and big brothers to the smaller patio homes located at Del Rayo Downs.  Both share the same community tennis courts, a community pool, cabana, and clubhouse.

The homes in the Del Rayo Estates neighborhood are located on lots that range from two to twelve acres.  The houses were built (and rebuilt) at various times during the past twenty five years, with sizes ranging from 8,000 to 17,000 square feet. Many of the homes were originally developed by former Chargers owner Gene Klien and local developer and investor Gene Lingerbrink.

The coastal locations and the views make these estates some of the most cherished (and expensive) properties in San Diego County. Children in the neighborhood attend Solana Santa Fe Elementary (part of the Solana Beach school district), graduating into the San Dieguito High School district (Earl Warren Middle School and Torrey Pines High).
