Del Rayo Downs is a gated neighborhood, with a community pool, clubhouse, and tennis courts.  There are sixty five patio-homes with three to five bedrooms, and living areas between 2,500 and 4,300 square feet.  The houses were built beginning in 1987 by local developers Gus Gardner and Gene Klein (former owner of the San Diego Chargers).  The architecture of the homes is Mediterranean style.  Many of the houses have wonderful views of the surrounding horse pastures and golf courses.

Drive just a few minutes to the west to get to Interstate 5, the Del Mar racetrack, and the Del Mar beaches and Village.  It is only about 20 to 30 minutes to the San Diego International Airport or the downtown nightlife.
