I had the opportunity to visit La Jolla not to long ago and from what I recall it is easy to see why home prices are the highest in the U.S. La Jolla is a great place to live and one day I may just retire there or possibly Ocean Side.

Thanks for your comment from down under. The prices of San Diego homes are definitely higher than most places. But relative to other destination cities in California (San Francisco, Los Angeles), the prices are actually slightly lower. I’ve learned not to be surprised by the demand for high-dollar homes in San Diego, and California in general.

Those prices are way over the top for most Aussies. For those sorts of prices you could almost pick up a mansion in a moderate area or a huge house in a well to do area.

I have always heard San Diego has the best climate in the U.S. I guess that is why it is a desirable place to live and therefore a demand for luxury homes like the community you mention in this post.
